Afghan slain for being ‘US spy’

MIRANSHAH: Suspected militants in North Waziristan have shot dead an Afghan refugee for allegedly spying for American forces in Afghanistan, security officials said on Thursday. The victim, identified as 45-year-old Malang Rahim Jan, belonged to the Khost area of Afghanistan and had been living in a refugee camp near Kohat. He was abducted on Wednesday from Mir Ali. His bullet-ridden body was found in Khadi village, confirmed local government official Fida Mohammad. Attached to his body was a letter warned that “US spies had infiltrated into North Waziristan”, stressing that the same fate would meet anybody else found to be spying for the Americans. staff report
